He stated that the settling of the soil and different <br /> concerns that may arise have all been taken into careful consideration. <br /> Mk. WUrl asked if the $421,575 bid and the $457,115 bid had the same <br /> assurance that the tank will stand. <br /> Mr. Hobbs stated that in the contract document is a one year warranty. <br /> This would continue, the City would have Rocky fountain Consultants <br /> assurance that the tank is structurally sound. <br /> If there were no constraints on budget, Mt. Hobbs stated that it would <br /> be his firms recommendation that the City approve the low bid as ad- <br /> justed in the alternate A. The City could o to alternate E with the <br /> same assurances. Aithernate C is structurally sound for the conditions <br /> that are there. <br /> Councilman Caranci asked if Rocky Mountain Consultants could give <br /> assurance that the tank would stand for 50 years. <br /> Mr. Hobbs stated that in the firms observations, the tank has been <br /> designed with 3 inches of settlement and in those conditions, it will <br /> stand for 30 ears. Be also stated that the soil engineers reported <br /> that the settlement would be 3 inches, and should it settle more, <br /> the consultants would go back to the soil engineers. <br /> It was noted that the drill boles were made down to the bedrock at <br /> the planned site. • <br /> Councilman DelPisso asked the thickness of the walls. <br /> Mk. Hobbs stated that they would be 10" thick. lie stated that the re- <br /> inforcement would be what is called tsndant reinforcement. <br /> Mfr.
