RTD's major program <br /> accomplishments in 1978 included: <br /> o An increase in transit service aewunting to more than a quarter <br /> of a million bus miles per month by mid-year, which in turn <br /> resulted in ridership increases about 15% above 1975 levels, <br /> • or double the levels of 1970. <br /> o The purchase of 40 new buses to replace overage equipment <br /> aid bring the fleet size to a total of 517 vehicles.
