August i8, 1977 411 Minutes - page 6 FRONT ST. CONTINUED the request to close Front St. Seconded by Councilman Morena*. Roll call. DiLorenzo yes. Marto no, DelPizto no, Caranci yes, Dhieux abstained. Tie Vote. Mayor Waschak voted yes to deny the request. Motion carried. LURA BOARD Mr. Wurl reported that the LULA Board re- cently had a meeting with other boards from the State and were very much impressed with the program in LsJunta, Colo. They are planning to go down to LaJuanta to see the operation and are inviting Council to attend. BROOMFIELD COMP. PLAN Mr. Wurl stated that the City received a copy of the Broomfield referral from the Boulder County Planning Dept. as relates to the adoption of Broomfield, Comprehensive Plan. Several things about it upset the City staff and a letter was drafted by the staff to Boulder County subject to Councils approval_ Mr. Wurl read the letter and Planner Drumm pointed out the locations of the Broomfield Comp. Plan stating that it goes north into what Lafayette has been dealing with. Councilman Caranci stated that even if the County doesn't approve the Plan, Broomfield can go ahead and annex the areas and the County can't do anything about it. Mr. Wurl stated that the City can write to the LUC and County opposing the annexation which would get some response. Councilman Dhieux asked if the plan over- lapped the City of Louisville or if it was contiguous. Planner Drumm stated that the only place would be right near Storage Tech. Planner Drumm stated that it is confusing to staff how the matter can be brought up so suddenly and not even be presented to the Long Range Planning Commission. Coun- cilman DiLorenzo stated that the matter will come up before the Planning Commission on Wed. August 24, 1977, at a public hearing. discussion Councilman DiCarlo moved that the staff be authorized to send the letter to Boulder County Planning Commission. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Motion carried.
