Mr. WuO. stated that Gear • Laws informed <br /> him that "also the State water 1114ineer <br /> will require meters in cities that are <br /> requesting the transfer of water rights <br /> from agriculture use to municipal use." <br /> Councilman DelPisso asked if there was <br /> a law passed on this. <br /> Mr. Wurl stated that he did not know; <br /> however, state departments have adopted <br /> many of their own rules to operate by. <br /> Mayor Waschak stated that he has talked <br /> with the state and will be getting in <br /> contact with them again on the matter. <br /> Councilman DiLorenzo asked what about <br /> the 800 who have already put in their <br /> water meters. <br /> Councilman DelPizzo stated that those <br /> are all old and if the City wants the <br /> entire City on meters then they should <br /> pay for them. <br /> Councilman Meier stated that the people <br /> he has talked to have not objected to <br /> the installation of meters and were in <br /> favor of the City paying for them. <br /> Councilman Caranci asked what happens <br /> if growth stops and there are no more <br /> water taps. <br /> Mr. Wurl stated that the individual <br /> consumer would be responsible. <br /> After discussion Councilman Meier moved <br /> that if Council approves the Grant <br /> Application, that 685 meters be installed <br /> at the City's expatiate, payment of meters <br /> coming from the )armers Home Loan/Grant <br /> and Bond Issue. Repayment of the Loan <br /> and Bond Issue will come from $230 from <br /> each water tap fee. Seconded by <br /> Councilman DiCarlo. Roll call vote. <br /> DiCarlo yes, DiLorenzo yes , Caranci <br /> yes, DelPiszo yes. Rilker yes, Meier <br /> yes. Motion carried. <br />
