Mr. WuO. stated that Gear • Laws informed him that "also the State water 1114ineer will require meters in cities that are requesting the transfer of water rights from agriculture use to municipal use." Councilman DelPisso asked if there was a law passed on this. Mr. Wurl stated that he did not know; however, state departments have adopted many of their own rules to operate by. Mayor Waschak stated that he has talked with the state and will be getting in contact with them again on the matter. Councilman DiLorenzo asked what about the 800 who have already put in their water meters. Councilman DelPizzo stated that those are all old and if the City wants the entire City on meters then they should pay for them. Councilman Meier stated that the people he has talked to have not objected to the installation of meters and were in favor of the City paying for them. Councilman Caranci asked what happens if growth stops and there are no more water taps. Mr. Wurl stated that the individual consumer would be responsible. After discussion Councilman Meier moved that if Council approves the Grant Application, that 685 meters be installed at the City's expatiate, payment of meters coming from the )armers Home Loan/Grant and Bond Issue. Repayment of the Loan and Bond Issue will come from $230 from each water tap fee. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Roll call vote. DiCarlo yes, DiLorenzo yes , Caranci yes, DelPiszo yes. Rilker yes, Meier yes. Motion carried.
