. --
tradition of involving the citizenry in the governmental process. rrescntly
the process of citizen involvement is demonstrated by the active participation of
rare than 300 citizens on planning boards, councils and comeittees for Boulder
County and city governments alone. Adding the other Boards and their' membership
from smaller jurisdictions within the County, the epproximate number of ettisens
•
directly involved prsseatly exceeds 400 persons. It will be the intent of this
comprehensive project to continue to involve these numerous citizens and help ._ -
to further strengthen and Late*rato these planning and advisory processes.
It is the understanding of this group of Boulder County agency directors
that most rpplications which are submitted under the human services reform
concept are expected to address interagency cooperation along categorical lines.
It is the position of this group that the state and local partnership must
address the broader issues in planning if human services delivery is to change
significantly in effectively meeting the total needs of clients and families
and communities. The intent of this project is to demonstrate a planning process
which will impact the total system. The local agencies will contribute the
staff for data collection and planning. The state role is to provide professional
assistance in directing and coordinating the effort.
•
Boulder County Board of County Cocmissioners
Wally Toevs, Chairperson
