ORDINANCE #588 All members of Council had before them a BARBED WIRE FENCES copy of Ordinance #588 for their review and file. Attorney Joss stated that the Ordinance was requested by the Building Department as there is now agricultural land in the City along with industrial sites and some resi- dential area which may have the need of barbed wire fence for protection. Attorney Joss sited an example for the residential area as the sewer lift station located in the Hillsborough North subdivision where young peope can get in there and disrupt the pump along with the possibility of getting hurt. Attorney Joss read Ordinance #588 on first reading by title only. Councilman Meier moved that Ordinance 0588 be ordered published. Seconded by Council - man Dil.orenzo. Councilman Caranci then moved that Section 08. 36.010 Prohibited - A. be amended to state that barbed wire fences are permissible in industrial areas to City specifications. Comment was made as to how the City would control the use of barbed wire fences and felt that within the industrial and residential areas there would need to be a chain link fence of a r"rta i r, height tn7ped with the barbed wire for added security.
