4111 IIIM
Rescheduled Meeting Louisville City Council June 27, 1978
PAGE 3
STORAGE TECHNOLOGY CORP. Administrator Wurl read the letter dated June 16,
REQUEST FOR ANNEXATION 1978, signed by Mr. Jesse I. Amide, President and
Chairman of the board, in entirety.
RICK SNOW, SENIOR COUNCIL Mr. Snow introduced himself to the Mayor and City
FOR STC. Council. He remarked that Mr. Iweida expressed
his regrets that he was unable to attend personally
and present the request for annexation. Mr. Snow
stated that it would be mutually beneficial to both
SIC and Louisville to request the annexation at this
time when STC is experiencing rapid growth and ex-
pansion. STC is particularly interested in tying
into the water and sewer utilities to finish their
building. Councilman Caranci stated that he knew
of one share of Coal Creek water on the STC land and
wanted to know if STC owned it. Mr Snow replied that
he believed they did. Councilmen Caranci then asked
Mr. Snow if there were other water shares on the
land proposed for annexation. Mr. Snow stated there
were not. Councilman Caranci then inquired if the
one share of Coal Creek water that was owned by SIC
would automatically be given the City. Mr. Snow
stated that he couldn't answer the question at this
time, but would find out, especially if this regire-
went is part of the annexation procedure, and then
assured him he could see no problem. Councilman
Caranci then stated that it was his understanding
that when STC people first came to the city for
annexation, the agreement was that the one share of
Coal Creek water would be given to the City. Mr.
Snow replied that he would pursue the matter and
inform Council.
Hr. Wurl stated that the recommendation of staff
was the annexation request be referred to the
Planning Commission for review and recommendations.
Councilman DelPizzo moved that STC annexation request
be referred to the Planning Commission for review
and recommendation. Seconded by Councilman Meier.
Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried.
Mr. Percy Conarroe inquired how many acres did the
annexation involve? The reply by the representatives
of STC was 247 acres. Mr. Conarroe then inquired
if STC had purchased two additional parcels from Mr.
Varra recently? They replied they had purchased two
additional parcels from Mr. Varra, which were included
in the 247 acres. Mr. Conarroe then asked what land
was the STC property ontiguous to?
