Most of the planes are self- <br /> insured Government aircraft. <br /> MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR Mayor Beier read the memorandum of agree- <br /> LOW ALTITUDE FLICHT went in its entirety. <br /> Councilwoman Morris Inquired what does this mean it distances <br /> less than 2,000 ft. but not closer than <br /> 500 ft. horizontially over urban as well <br /> as noriurban areas. <br /> Dr. McCarthy replied that they would fly <br /> no lower than 500 ft. above any object, <br /> and horizontially no closer than 500 ft. <br /> He further explained that their flights <br /> are not restricted over wheat fields <br /> by altitude, and that they could make <br /> a close pass on the side of Louisville, <br /> not closer than 500 ft. also, they would <br /> maintain 500 ft. above any structure within <br /> the city limits. The only time the hori- <br /> zontial factor comes into effect is when <br /> they are approaching the restricted air <br /> space, they can elect to go off to the side, <br /> in which case they will get no closer than <br /> 500 ft. from any built up area. <br /> AUTHORIZATION Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Leary <br /> seconded that the Mayor be authorized to <br /> sign the Memorandum of Agreement for the <br /> JAWS Project. Question called for. All <br /> in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Councilman Cummings Inquired of Dr. McCarthy, if they would be <br /> back before Council if they have F.A.A. <br /> approval. <br /> McCarthy replied - they didn't expect to <br /> return but they would notify Council or <br /> the F.A.A. would.
