MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR Mayor Beier read the memorandum of agree- LOW ALTITUDE FLICHT went in its entirety. Councilwoman Morris Inquired what does this mean it distances less than 2,000 ft. but not closer than 500 ft. horizontially over urban as well as noriurban areas. Dr. McCarthy replied that they would fly no lower than 500 ft. above any object, and horizontially no closer than 500 ft. He further explained that their flights are not restricted over wheat fields by altitude, and that they could make a close pass on the side of Louisville, not closer than 500 ft. also, they would maintain 500 ft. above any structure within the city limits. The only time the hori- zontial factor comes into effect is when they are approaching the restricted air space, they can elect to go off to the side, in which case they will get no closer than 500 ft. from any built up area. AUTHORIZATION Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Leary seconded that the Mayor be authorized to sign the Memorandum of Agreement for the JAWS Project. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Councilman Cummings Inquired of Dr. McCarthy, if they would be back before Council if they have F.A.A. approval. McCarthy replied - they didn't expect to return but they would notify Council or the F.A.A. would. He further informed Council if there were any questions or if they received any complaints from the resi- dents he would be happy to come back.
