S • <br /> • <br /> 6/15/82 Page -3- <br /> AMERICAN LEGION REQUEST Bob Ross representing the American Legion <br /> FIREWORKS DISPLAY requested permission to have their annual <br /> fireworks program, entitled "Salute to America," <br /> to be held at Miner's Field. They had com- <br /> plied with the regulations of the Bureau of <br /> Alcohol and Tobacco and Firearms for Class <br /> C Fireworks . This event will conclude the <br /> festivities proceeded by the City' s events <br /> at Memory Square Park. They have invested <br /> $2 ,000.00 in fireworks .and invited all to attend. <br /> PERMISSION GRANTED TO USE Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Ferrero <br /> MINER'S FIELD FOR FIREWORKS seconded that the American Legion be given <br /> permission to use Miner's Field for their <br /> fireworks display. <br /> Mr. Ross also advised that their show would <br /> begin at 8 :00 P.M. and the fireworks display <br /> would start at 9 :15 P.M. <br /> Question called for on the motion. All in <br /> favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> PERSONAL FIREWORKS REGULATION Councilman Cussen suggested a notice be placed <br /> in the Louisville Times regarding shooting of <br /> fireworks as set forth in the City's ordinance. <br /> COMMUNITY BUILDING - COST Administrator Wurl advised that funds were <br /> ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS available in the Capital Improvements Fund <br /> to do the repairs . in the amount of $21,000. 00. <br /> The request was for Council 's authority to <br /> proceed to develop plans and specs and call <br /> for bids . <br /> DRAINAGE FROM THE BUILDING Mayor Meier stated the cost of drainage from <br /> the building was not included in the estimate. <br /> Director Hioco reported since this cost would <br /> be minimal it was not included as it had been <br /> budgeted to be done this year. <br /> AUTHORIZATION GRANTED Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Cummings <br /> seconded that Council authorize the drawing <br /> up of specs and putting out for bid the improve- <br /> ments to the Community Building. Question <br /> called for. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> LOUISVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Each councilmember had a copy of a letter <br /> MEMBERSHIP from Chamber of Commerce president Dennis <br /> Drumm. <br /> Councilman Leary Expressed his concern that the City pay dues, <br /> was willing to donate funds for printed material <br />
