411 410 12/7/82 Page -5- New Subdivisions Mr. Tennessen stated the Company made a request in October to construct the system to these areas and the funds were not avail- able at that time. Presently the funds have been obtained and cable is being laid in the trenches along with the other utility lines . Approximately 75 homes in the Medema sub- division will be serviced after the first of the year, weather permitting. Addition of New Services Two new additions have been added to the system - Cable Health Network and Cable Headline News . In the future Music Television will be added, as well as a new weather service . These will be on the basic rate with no increase in cost . Street and Drainage The street and drainage pipe has been com- pleted at the Studio. FCC Tests Tennessen advised the Louisville system passed these tests with flying colors - was the best of the 4 systems installed in Colo- rado. Financial Report There are 1 ,070 subscribers in the City pre- sently and hopefully will have more when the new subdivisions are served. A copy of this report will be provided Council. Sale of Colorado Properties Mr. Tennessen advised that Storer and Scripps- to Scripps-Howard Howard have signed a letter of intent for the sale of Storer's Colorado properties to Scripps- Howard. They expect to have the contract drawn up in approximately 3 weeks and it will be presented to Council , which will of course require their approval . He felt the reason for the sale was that the subscriber rate for Colorado was very low with less than 8 , 000. Councilman Cussen Commented he was in agreement there was a lack of communication which caused problems and concerns . He felt that if a frequent newsletter had been presented to Council it would be beneficial . Service to Schools Cussen referred to this section in the Storer Agreement , and commented that when he had checked with the Principals in the Fall , they were not aware that service was available to them, and were not aware that the service was free. They were led to believe that there would be a charge and this was one of the problems at the Elementary School .
