411 411
12/7/82 Page -9-
report was when Storer was bidding for the
franchise in Longmont their rate was 50c
lower than Scripps-Howard on the basic ser-
vice and theirs was about $1 .00 lower on the
premium service. He assured Councilman Leary
there would be no change in rates because
of the transfer .
Training Councilman Leary inquired if Storer would
provide training free to the community for
the video equipment.
Tennessen advised that he would - would have
a coordinator who would be available to cover
both Ft . Lupton and Louisville.
Leary felt this program could off-set some
of the effects of the delay or compensate
in some way.
commented
Van
Councilman Leary/since Louisville and Love-
land have the same franchise, what would
happen in the event both cities wished to
use the production equipment at the same.time.
Tennessen advised the Louisville studio
equipment could be used, and the coordinator
would help produce the event . This is a
free service .
WALDO'S LIQUOR LICENSE Councilman Ferrera moved, Councilman Cussen
RENEWAL .seconded that Waldo' s liquor license be
APPROVAL renewed. Question called for. All in favor .
Motion carried unanimously.
THE LIQUOR STORE - LIQUOR Councilman Cussen referred to the incident
LICENSE RENEWAL report from the Police Department which
Parking Violations stated there were 79 parking complaints.
Cussen expressed concern and inquired if
we should be enforcin no ?arking so that
a tenant on Main St . doesn t have to con-
tinually call the Police Dept .
Councilman Fauson Expressed this same concern - why is the
tenant allowed privileged parking?
Administrator Wurl advised the tenant re-
quested a 15 minute parking zone and council
granted that request . He further stated that
he receives many complaints from people who
get ticketed for parking in this spot . Part
of the complaint is chat there are 3 different
parking times permitted along the west side
of Main St . in that block - a k hour zone.
a 2 hour zone, a 15 minute zone, and no
limitation in front of the bank. Most of
the restauranteurs require a 2 hour zone ,
hardware store - k hour , and liquor stores -
15 minutes; therefore the inconsistencies .
