411 110 1/9/84 Page -2- Mayor Pro-tem Fauson thanked Mayor Meier. Stated that Mr. Cummings and Mr. Ferrera who was called out of town, didn't get to talk with Mr. Cummings, and on behalf of all ' of them wished to express his appreciation for the commendations. PRESENT COUNCIL SINE DIE Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Fauson seconded that the present council sine die. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Councilmembers elect took their respective chairs at the council table as was designated by the seating arrangement of the Mayor. SWEARING IN CEREMONIES Mayor Meier, Councilmembers Rick Luce, Susan Morris, Robert Woodson, Betty Johnson, John Leary, Michael Cussen, City Treasurer Hermon, and City Clerk Mudrock were sworn in at one time by Judge Lawrence Enrietto. Judge Enrietto then congratulated everyone. SIGNING OF OATHS OF OFFICE All elected officials signed the oaths of Office. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL Mayor Meier called the meeting to order of CALL the new council at 7:48 P.M. and the roll was called. ADOPTION OF RULES OF Councilman Luce moved, Councilman Cussen CONDUCT OF MEETINGS seconded that this council adopt the Colorado Municipal League's Conduct of Meetings rules as outlined in their guide which is based on Roberts Rules of Order Revised, and secondly added wherein any case those Colorado Muni- cipal League Conduct of Meeting rules do not specify precisely what would transpire in a pariiamentary sense that Roberts Rules of Order Revise dd be the guiding factor. Councilman Leary Asked if the City Attorney would be the Parliamentarian parliamentarian, is that the understanding? Mayor Meier stated that he assumed he would be and if that is not necessarily his role felt council could advertise and receive sOmmone that would be willing to be a parlia- mentarian other than the City Attorney. Until this decision is made felt he could serve under that purpose.
