AMIll
5/1/84 Page -1-
Mayor Meier Commented it would be difficult to give
Mrs. Sohn a reply this evening but assured
her that Director 1Casch and Council would
address her concerns and get back with her
as soon as possible.
Councilwoman Morris Commented that Mrs. Sohn had called her
and she advised her to come to the meeting
this evening. Mrs. Morris stated that a
discussion had been held several months
ago on this item and it was her understanding
that meetings were being held with the County
and the School District to try to resolve
this. She was disappointed to hear that
this is not occurirag presently and felt it
was very important that it be addressed soon
for a permanent solution. It was also her
feeling that the City has to be the initi-
ator as was done with Louisville Elementary
School.
Mrs. Sohn added that she spoke with County
Commissioner Heath and she invited her to
come Thursday evening to speak before the
Commissioners as they are definitely plan-
ning to widen South Boulder. Commissioner
Heath was under the impression this would
be done within the next two months. Mrs.
Heath stated that they cannot make any plans
or commitment until the City approaches them.
It is a City issue because it is within the
City limits. However the Commissioners are
willing to talk with representatives from the
City and the School District feels the same.
Mrs. Sohn urged the City get together with
these people immediately who are now willing
to discuss it and arrive at a solution.
Director of Public Works Kasch stated that
he spoke with Councilwoman Morris last week
and agreed the problem should be addressed
now when we are looking at future improve-
ments with the ultimate widening of South
Boulder Road from Washington St. to McCaslin
Blvd. jointly funded between City and County
in 1985. He realized there was a conflict
with some of the school opening times. They
are resuming talks with the County over the
next month regarding the project, they will
discuss this problem at the same time.
