Leary asked that Hobbs investigate how the Denver
Water Board views this contract. Also, does the
Board see this as a challenge to them. Leary
further indicated that he would like a study of
the economic impacts regarding what it might do
to have two huge conglomerates fighting for some
of the same issues, water, projects, etc. , and th
economic affects of water acquisition. Also is it
in Louisville's best interest to be aligned with
Denver or someone else like Aurora? The political
implications need to be defined.
Luc• asked that the City look at the broader
picture concerning where the City stands in terse
of water acquisition and strategy by assessing the
City 's current water acquisition policy and its
validity relative to future water acquisition.
Leary also asked that any possible litigat . on
resulting from this contract be investigated [ro■
the standpoint of the City's obligation
financially.
Mayor Meier moved that the Metropolitan Denver
Water Authority item be tabled until the next
Council Meeting and be discussed at the Council 's
Study Session scheduled for the 26th of February.
Luce seconded and the motion was passed
unanimously.
RESOLUTION #3
G.E. ENTERPRISES Rautenstraus read Resolution #3,"A Resolution
approving the Special . Review Use for G. E.
Enterprises, Inc ." in its entirety.
Appeal gave a brief presentation stating that
Planning Commission approved this unanimously with
two conditions: 1) paving the customer parking
area; 2) delaying the improvements on Cannon
Street as this is a sub-lease situation and it
would be more appropriate as part of a Special
Iaprovesent District. Planning Commission further
moved that Council be encouraged to approve the
initiation of a Special Improvsaent District .
Rick liable, Vice-President of C.E. Enterprises,
2425 Iris, Boulder , gave a presentation requesting
the customer parking issue be resolved by having
road base only until such time as the improvements
are made to Cannon. This would eliminate the
problem of mis-alignment of asphalt , curb, gutter ,
etc. More that 50Z of retail nursery and garden
centers do NOT have paved customer parking.
3
