•
The structure presently on site is a trailer and
is only temporary contingent on the success of
the business. Paving the parking area may
ultimately not serve the owner of the property
should the business not succeed.
Expanding the business 30'-40' to the west could
be done administratively as long as the use
remained the same should C. E. Enterprises request
expansion.
The creation of a Special Improvement District was
discussed by Council. Hundley asked that a target
date of July 1985 be set for the initiation of a
Special Improvement District to allow the City's
Public Works Director time to assess the financial
aspects. A public works director should be chosen
within the next few weeks. A Special Improvement
District can be created by either the property
owners or the City.
Cuasen moved and Morris seconded that Ordinance 03
be adopted with an amendment to include the
paving of the customer parking area taking place
within 8 months after the creation and subsequent
improvements of, and within, the Special
Improvement District.
Mr. Kimble asked that the paving of the parking
area also be contingent on the success and
continuation of the retail business. Johnson felt
that a somewhat pessimistic view has been taken by
G.E. Enterprises. Mr . David Gray , President ,
responded by stating that the landscaping
contracting business has thrived in Louisville over
the last 5 years. However , the retail nursery and
garden center might not take hold as anticipated
and they just ask for this minor consideration
this first year . They feel very positive but want
to protect their position.
Leary feels that if their company has to drop the
retail portion of their bulimia', they can apply
to the City to have this agreement changed.
Resolution #3 as amended was passed unanimously .
•
SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT Mayor Meier moved to allow the property owners
within the Cannon Street area until July 1 , 1985,
to request the creation of a Special Improvement
District, After this time the City would then
take steps to form such district for the
improvements on Cannon Street. Cuasen seconded
4
•
