Maintaining buffers between cities and concern of
over development in the Denver Metro area were
other concern• of those speaking in opposition to
this proposed annexation.
Mayor Fenian asked for those wishing to speak in
favor of the Ordinance.
sugeine Carannci, 1101 Main St., *poke in favor of
the annexation stating "thet we cannot afford to
lot the land that plays such a vital part in the
economic growth of our City be controlled by
anyone other than the City of Louisville.'
Other people speaking in favor of the proposed
annexation referred to the City's ability to
expand its oouercial tax ban* and favored Council
approval. Also referred to was Superior's ability
to have this property annexed to that Town and for
whatever reason did not. Superior will prosper
from this annexation and Louisville should protect
their investment at this site.
Dave Stahl, representing Do*art Development Corp.,
speaking neither in favor of nor in opposition to
this proposed annexation asked Council for clari-
fication on issues including the 1961 Highway
Agreement entered into by the City of Louisville,
Ronart Development Corp. and the State of
Colorado. Stahl asked Council if there will be an
attempt by the City to petition the State of
Colorado to mend this agreement to lift the
ceiling on commercial development. Also, in
Roxart's 1984 Agreement regarding open space,
provisions were wade that include • 1500' buffer
along U.S. 36 and specifically a tract of land
adjacent to U.S. 36 deeded to the City as open
space. Stabs stated that this is a prime commer-
cial piece of property and asked what the future
of this parcel is now that CS atoning is requested
of the adjacent property in this proposed annexa-
tion. Finally, Stahl asked if Council is con-
sidering a different' more equitable recovery fee
structure for costs Roxart invested in a sewer
interceptor line to the interchange and the con-
tributions made up-front toward the water and
sever treatment plants.
Mayor tauson and medley stated that these issues
will be discussed by Council in a Work Session.
In answer to a questions by Sackett, lum3ley
stated that in a sleeting with Superior, Wadley
indicated that the City of Louisville would enter-
tain any proposal Superior would have regarding
T
