The low bid was received <br /> from VWR Scientific in the amount of $13,383.43 <br /> for materials. A review of the bid submitted by <br /> VWR Scientific indicated that two items were not <br /> specified. They were contacted regarding the <br /> variance from the specified equipment and quoted <br /> an additional $344.50 to meet City specifications. <br /> The total was less than provided for in the esti- <br /> mated cost for this equipment and staff recommends <br /> that Council award bid to VWR Scientific in the <br /> amount of *13,727.85 for materials and $1,365 for <br /> inst*iletion. <br /> Mayor Fauson moved that VWR Scientific be award <br /> the bid in the total amount of $15,092.85. Mohr <br /> seconded. Unanimous. <br /> AWARD BID - CEMETERY WATERLINE JACK 6 BORE - <br /> LEDALL BROS. Phase stated that the Public Works Department, in <br /> order to continue with the Cemetery Water Line <br /> Project, received bids for a jack and bore of a <br /> waterline across State Highway 42. The current <br /> waterline project being pursued by the City for <br /> service to the Cemetery calls for attaching to an <br /> existing waterline in Cherry Street, than going <br /> east to 104th St., and then from 104th to Highway <br /> 42. The City has received verbal approval from <br /> the property owner who currently owns the future <br /> Cherry St. right-of-way for permission to install <br /> the water main in the future Cherry St. right-of- <br /> way. The existing 104th St. right-of-way will be <br /> utilised for installation of a line along 104th <br /> Street. <br /> Award of the jack and bore contract for installa- <br /> tion of the pipeline under Highway 42 will resolve <br /> the last item in order to provide water service to <br /> the Cemetery. Assuming Council proceeds with bid <br /> award, Phase explained that the Public Works <br /> Department will than make final arrangements with <br /> suppliers, and schedule construction crews in <br /> order to complete the waterline as soon as <br /> possible. The project will take 6-8 weeks for <br /> completion. <br /> SsyManski asked if this award should be approved <br /> prior to getting a signed document for the <br /> easement. <br /> Anderson suggested that the bid award be contin- <br /> gent upon receiving easement. <br /> • S <br />
