07/07/87
recommending that its new Executive Director, Eugene
Caranci, be appointed to fill this vacancy.
Mayor Fauson moved that Eugene Caranci be appointed
to the Lafayette-Louisville Downtown Revitalization,
Inc. Board. Mohr seconded. Unanimous.
RESOLUTIOW 817 - 1987 BUDGET AMB)IDME11TS
PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus related that Resolution #17 is up for
second reading and public hearing tonight and that
Resolution 817 was read in its entirety at the June
2, 1987, Council Meeting. By title only, Resolution
#17 is "A Resolution amending the 1987 Budget by
decreasing or increasing revenues and appropriations
in the General, Capital Improvement, Special
Improvement, Conservation Trust, Revenue Sharing,
Refunding Water Bonds, Debt Service, Special
Improvement District 86-1 and Wastewater Funds."
Proper publication and notice of public hearing were
established.
Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing.
Asti--Caranci stated that Resolution 017 will amend
the 1987 Budget as stated in its title. Colorado
Budget Law requires that the resolution be adopted
at a public meeting after publication of the
proposed resolution by a majority vote of Council.
The amendments are of a housekeeping nature and
reflects 1) unanticipated revenues; 2) expenditures
• for 1986 projects that carried over into 1987; 3)
1987 expenditures that have been 'delayed to a future
year; 4) reduction in the number of residential
building permits; 5) 1986 fund balance carryover
adjustments for various funds; 6) transfer of Coun-
cil Contingency Funds; and 7) several recommenda-
tions for the City's auditors. Asti-Caranci de-
tailed these changes.
Finance Committee Chairman Szymanski stated that the
Committee had reviewed these amendments at their May
19th meeting and are recommending Council adopt the
Resolution.
Sackett stated that in the public's interest he
would like to state that its important to note that
in his opinion, sufficient funding has not been set
aside for street repair. At budget time, this issue
should be looked at very carefully.
Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing and called
for a motion.
2
