Hundley suggested that there is no waiting list of <br /> projects which cost 52,000 to $2,500. This piece of <br /> equipment went out and the City has been operating a <br /> few weeks without it and it does pose a real prob- <br /> lem. We can contract at the local car wash, but <br /> that would be expense over time. Since this is a <br /> replacement piece of equipment, the cost is fairly <br /> low and there don't seem to be any other budget <br /> packages in the amount of the $2,200 savings on <br /> South Boulder Road that would seem to be worth bring <br /> to Council. <br /> Mayor Fauson called for a vote on the motion. The <br /> motion passed unanimously. <br /> AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD BID - TREATED WATER STORAGE TANK <br /> PROJECT Hundley asked that Council enter into Executive <br /> Session as this is an issue relating to <br /> negotiations. <br /> Mayor Fauson recessed to Executive Session to dis- <br /> cuss this issue at 8:25 p.m. <br /> Mayor Fauson reopened the Meeting at 8:40 p.m. <br /> Pharr explained that on Thursday, August 27, bids <br /> were opened for the City's 2 million gallon Treated <br /> Water Storage Tank project. Rocky Mountain Consul- <br /> tants and staff recommend award of bid to Jenison <br /> Construction Co., Inc. RMC is also recommending <br /> Alternate A bid be accepted. The bid amount is <br /> somewhat less than estimated and is funded in the <br /> CIF funds. Jenison's bid was $475,205. <br /> Rundley stated that the original engineer's estimate <br /> for this project for the purpose of obtaining <br /> financing was $500,000, and therefore, Council <br /> should feel comfortable knowing that the bid <br /> actually came in lower than the estimate used to <br /> issue bonds. <br /> Szymanski moved that Jenison Construction Co., Inc. <br /> be awarded the bid for the treated water storage <br /> tank project in the amount of $475,205. Scarpella <br /> seconded. Unanimous. <br /> OTHER: <br /> RAPID TRANSIT Wanush gave a brief update on the rapid transit <br /> discussions that have taken place. The City is <br /> participating in the Northwest Corridor rapid <br /> transit system meetings.
