..,.
technical aspects of the parkway. T!.cy will be
meeting again Thursday. I did ask the Boulder
County Attorney what we should do tonight and if
he had any recommendations regarding our public
hearing. He suggested that we continue the public
hearing until the next meeting of the City
Council. I did tell him that our next meeting was
not until April 2 which would be after the March
31st deadline and he said he did not see a problem
with that. He did indicate that the Boulder City
Council would be continuing their public hearing
until their next Council meeting. Lafayette would
be continuing their public hearing too. My
recommendation tonight is that the public hearing
be continued until the next Louisville City
Council meeting, which would be April 2nd.
We did receive a memorandum from the Broomfield
City attorney and in it were a number of suggested
revisions to the Intergovernmental Agreement.
One issue that did come up that was new in this
memorandum was the annexation provision of the
agreement to prohibit Louisville from annexing
south of Carbon Road and prohibit Lafayette from
annexing south of Dillon. I am not sure were that
came from. It looks to me that south of Carbon
Road is already part of Broomfield and so it
couldn't be annexed by the City of Louisville. If
you have any guidance in terms of that issue
please feel free to let me know.
Hornbostel: Basically I think they wanted to see if we were
going to be fair with them. I didn't really feel
that there was a problem with it. When we were at
the last meeting, Jefferson County brought up
several new issues into the scope of things. They
wanted to bring in an authority and tolling.
Also there was discussion about the access again.
There has been a lot of talk and some have dropped
out because of the open space along 93rd. I don't
really know if anything stands at this point or
not. until Thursday night I'm not really sure
where things stand. Boulder wants to make 96th
and Dillon a freeway to freeway. If we do that
again our problem is access.
Sackett: One of the good things about the parkway is the
move toward a compromise, which I give
Councilwoman Hornbostel and Councilman Davidson
credit for. There are major problems with the
parkway and that is mainly the authority and
tolling. I think we should make it clear that
Jefferson County needs to be careful not to
jeopardize the compromise. We are not trying to
color W-470, we are providing a compromise that
5
