.:,

Memorandum

To: Historical Commission
From: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator
Date: June 7, 2010
Re: Museum Coordinator's Report

As a reminder, Anne Robinson has scheduled Historical Walking Tours of Louisville for
10:30 AM on July 3, July 31, September 4, and October 2, to start outside the Library.

The Museum's Open House during the Taste of Louisville on June 5th saw an estimated
110 visitors to the Museum. The Commission took in $132 in merchandise and
memberships and received an additional $85 in donations. Thank you to the Historical
Commission members and other volunteers who helped make pizzelles, give tours, and
talk with visitors at the Museum.

The program "Rocky Flats and the Cold War West: Community Impacts and Historical
Legacy" that took place on May 2ih was very well received. There were sixty people in
attendance. The Historical Commission and the Library Foundation each provided $50
for a $100 honorarium to the Rocky Flats Cold War Museum.

The Louisville Public Library has scheduled a book signing by local historical author
Carol Turner on Thursday, July 15th, 7:00 PM. Her book is "Forgotten Heroes and
Villains of Sand Creek."

Six city staff members from the City of Thornton toured the Museum and met with me in
order to get advice and ideas about starting a process for Thornton to be able to accept
donations of historical artifacts, photos, and documents, and possibly develop its own
historical organization.

A new book with a chapter about the Tomeo House has been released: The Walls Talk:
Historic House Museums of Colorado, by Patricia Werner.

Museum Visitors Report (these statistics represent visits to the Museum itself, and not
inquiries that come in by email or phone):

.
