...,'

later next year we will have those lines down
and out of the way and not have to deal with
them at a higher cost.

Davidson: Undergrounding the lines downtown is also a
priority so where does this leave us since
this program will reduce our money to about
$93,000.00. What does that leave us on that
program?

Phare: We think we can still do the first phase of
the downtown but whether we get the lines
underground or we just get the conduit put in
to install the lines in a year or two is
subject to refinement. We are not going to
do the whole downtown regardless of what we
have for quite a while. We are allowed to
bill three years into the future with Public
Service with what they estimate our 1% fee to
be. Based on that we can still generate
approximately an additional $250,000.00.
Approximately $80,000.00 a year. If we are
down to $90,000.00, that would put us over
$300,000.00 that we could put towards down-
town. Personally I am a little reluctant to
adjust too much of the downtown underground-
ing until we get commi tments from property
owners to take care of their lines. Under-
grounding lines downtown may have to wait
awhile but if we were to undertake some
construction downtown next year I would
propose that we at least get the conduit
installed so that we could do that in the
immediate future.

Howard moved that Council authorize Public Service to do the
undergrounding of electrical facilities on Dillon Road and So.
88th st. between Coal Creek and Health Park Drive for the cost of
$175,851.00, not to exceed that, seconded by Fauson. Roll call
was taken on the motion. Motion was passed 6-0.

ORDINANCE NO. 1043, SERIES 1991 - APPROVAL BY CITY OF LOUISVILLE
OF STK'S PARTICIPATION IN SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT FOR 96TH
ST.
