Sustainability Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />November 23, 2023 <br />Page 2 of 6 <br />Staff Update — <br />Kayla reported that the City received $2,500,000 from DOLA to decarbonize the <br />Louisville Recreation Center. She also shared that there will not be a December <br />LSAB meeting, but rather LSAB will attend a collaborative meeting with <br />neighboring communities, Superior and Lafayette. Josh asked staff to investigate <br />any new procedures required by City Council and wondered if the board would <br />still be able to draft memos or if the staff liaison would be required to draft them <br />in 2024. <br />Discussion Item — LSAB 2024 Work Plan Ideas <br />Kayla shared that the Sustainability Division's work plan aligns with City Council's <br />work plan. The Division will be working on an e-bike share pilot program that <br />focuses on moving employees between City facilities during the workday. The e- <br />bike pilot and upgrading City kitchens to reusable items are the results of a <br />municipal sustainability survey. <br />The Division's 2024 work plan consists of Community and Internal <br />Decarbonization Plan implementation, supporting commercial sustainability <br />programs, including the Sustainability Grant to fund any sustainability concept <br />presented by a business. The City is partnering with Resource Central on the <br />Lawn Replacement Program. <br />Kayla reported that City Council will review LSAB's 2024 work plan in February <br />2024. Next, Kayla shared that LSAB members had submitted ideas to be <br />considered for the 2024 work plan. The members that had submitted ideas would <br />present their ideas to the full board. Each person had 10 minutes to present their <br />idea. <br />John Cowley went first and presented two ideas <br />John's first idea was monitoring and overseeing the implementation of the <br />Internal Decarbonization Plan.
