Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 19, 2010 <br />Page 5 of 5 <br /> <br />Update on Demolition Requests – Alley Cat, 816 Main <br /> <br />Lewis and Stewart described their subcommittee meeting with the owner of the <br />Alley Cat. He wants to remove the existing windows to allow for folding windows <br />that open. It was determined the windows were not historic components of the <br />original building so they released the permit. The applicant did state he would try <br />and bring the façade back to look like the original Rex Theater. <br />Discussion/Comments on Planning Department Referrals – none <br />Updates <br />Hecla Casino – <br />There was not much update. Boulder County is still hoping to have the structure <br />moved to Lafayette. <br />Items from Staff <br />Memory Square Improvements <br />McCartney presented the attached memo from the Parks Department. The <br />memo stated the work being completed is not affecting the historical structure. <br />Stewart stated this is a landmark and must go through an Alteration Certificate <br />for any improvements. He stated the undergoing activity falls under <br />archaeological improvements. <br />Stewart then stated the internal staff review process needs to be reworked. <br />Planning Director Interviews <br />McCartney gave an update of the Planning Director interviews. <br />Items from Commission Members – none <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br />Koertje suggested to bring the sample plaques that Whitman had worked on. <br />Poppitz asked for an update on the Grain Elevator. <br />Adjourn <br /> <br />meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br />
