3. Aluminum that is not organically coated shall be insulated from direct contact with <br />steel, masonry, concrete or other dissimilar metals by bituminous paint, zinc <br />chromate primer, nonconductive shims or other suitable insulating material. <br />4. Weather -tight Construction: Install sill members and other members in a bed of <br />sealant or with joint filler or gaskets, to provide weather tight construction. <br />Coordinate installation with wall flashings and other components of construction. <br />a. Refer to Joint Treatments (Sealants) Section for installation requirements. <br />3.03 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Field Tests: Architect shall select curtain wall units to be tested as soon as a <br />representative portion of the project has been installed, glazed, perimeter caulked and <br />cured. Conduct tests for air infiltration and water penetration with manufacturer's <br />representative present. Tests not meeting specified performance requirements and <br />units having deficiencies shall be corrected as part of the contract amount. <br />1. Testing: Testing shall be performed by a qualified independent testing agency. <br />a. Air Infiltration Tests: Conduct tests in accordance with ASTM E 783. Allowable <br />air infiltration shall not exceed 1.5 times the amount indicated in the <br />performance requirements or 0.09 cfm /ft whichever is greater. <br />b. Water Infiltration Tests: Conduct tests in accordance with ASTM E 1105. No <br />uncontrolled water leakage is permitted when tested at a static test pressure <br />of two - thirds the specified water penetration pressure but not less than 10 psf <br />(479 Pa). <br />B. Manufacturer's Field Services: Upon Owner's written request, provide periodic site visit <br />by manufacturer's field service representative. <br />PART 4 REPLACEMENT GLAZING <br />4.01 REPLACEMENT VERTICAL GLAZING <br />A. Remove and replace all damaged and /or failing vertical glazing in the Pool area as <br />shown on the drawings and /or directed by the Owner. <br />B. New glazing specifications to meet or exceed glass and glazing specifications for new <br />curtain wall assembly above. <br />C. Check existing frames at replacement glazing locations and notify Owner or any failures <br />or deficiencies prior to installing new glazing units. <br />D. Replace interior and exterior gaskets for all replaced glazing units <br />4.02 REPLACEMENT SLOPED GLAZING <br />A. Remove and replace all sloped glazing at south facing glass roof area as shown on <br />drawings. <br />B. New glazing to be opaque spandrel panels set into existing sloped curtain wall assembly. <br />Outer spandrel glazing will be fully tempered and inside glass will be laminated. <br />Insulated units do not require argon fill or low E.
