<br /> City Council <br /> Study Session Summary <br /> April 25, 2006 <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> throughout Boulder County in order to create vibrant communities in Boulder <br /> County. <br /> Claudine Low reported on how the Louisville Senior Services Center is <br /> supporting the needs of older adults in the community by promoting social & civil <br /> engagement; maximizing independence and supporting caregivers; and <br /> optimiZing physical and mental health and well-being. <br /> Bill McDermott requested City Council support for the Boulder County Aging <br /> Services Division Vision for Community Action. <br /> Staff Presentation - Emergency Preparedness, Police Chief Bruce <br /> Goodman <br /> Bruce Goodman distributed a handout from the Colorado Department of Public <br /> Health & Environment regarding pandemic influenza. He explained that the City <br /> of Louisville has been chosen as one of 18 communities to receive a grant from <br /> the Department of Homeland Security to develop a Continuity of Government <br /> Training Preparation program. <br /> Don Brown distributed copies of an anti-graffiti ordinance currently under <br /> discussion by DRCOG (Denver Regional Council of Governments). Council <br /> discussed the pros and cons of anti-graffiti ordinances. <br /> City Manager Items <br /> Bill Simmons provided a report on the Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting <br /> held at the Recreation Center today at which the decline in area jobs was <br /> discussed. <br /> Bill Simmons reported that Boulder County has also hired a consultant to review <br /> Xcel's high pressure compression station application. Xcel has informed the City <br /> that they will be applying this week for a temporary location permit in Louisville. <br /> Bill Simmons provided an update on declining sales tax revenues. <br /> Copies of the May 2, 2006 City Council Meeting draft agenda, Advance Agenda <br /> and the Meeting Calendar were distributed. <br /> Other Items <br /> None <br /> Adjournment <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 p.m. <br /> Submitted by Belinda Dogan-Pishner <br /> April 26, 2006 <br />
