<br /> <br />Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />August 14, 2006 <br />City Hall <br />749 Main Street <br />7:00 <br />PM <br /> <br />Call to Order <br /> – Chairperson Heather Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />: <br /> <br />Commission Members Present: <br /> <br />Callan Childs, Mike Koertje, Heather Lewis, Rod Wilcox <br /> <br />Commission Members Absent: <br />Greg McMenamin, Melanie Julian Muckle, Laurel Tofte <br /> <br />City Representatives: <br />Meredyth Muth, Community Facilitator <br /> <br />Approval of Agenda <br /> – Wilcox moved to approve the agenda, Childs seconded the <br />motion. All in agreement. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> – Koertje moved to approve the minutes, Childs seconded the <br />motion. All in agreement. <br /> <br />Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda <br /> – None <br /> <br />Properties Potentially Affected by FasTracks - Mrs. Downer’s Cabins, 809 & 801 <br />Lee Avenue <br />Muth reported that she was going to ask the Harney-Lastoka Committee if the cabins <br />could be moved to the Community Garden site. Plans for the area call for two sheds to <br />be used by the gardeners for the storage of equipment and other items. Muth noted the <br />cabins could not be located within the landmarked area on the Harney-Lastoka property, <br />but this might be a good alternative. Muth will report back to the Commission after <br />speaking with the Harney-Lastoka Committee. <br /> <br />Jean Morgan thanked the Commission for their support of this project. <br /> <br />Proposed Preservation Zoning Incentives <br />Lewis handed out copies of the proposed incentives that she, McMenamin, and Childs <br />had been formulating. They are recommending that homes in Old Town get specific <br />bonuses for the preservation of existing homes when building additions.
