Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 21, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 8 <br /> <br />Scott Eichorn, applicant, presented his case and asked the Commission if they <br />had any questions. He stated the following regarding the structures integrity: <br /> <br /> Recreated the original porch by using historical photos. <br /> <br /> House has original stained wood trim. <br /> <br /> Windows and doors are in original location. <br />Muckle asked if Eichorn had the original photos of the porch for the Commission <br />to view. <br />Eichorn stated the photos were at home. He also stated he had matched the <br />porch to the photos as closely as possible. <br />Muckle asked if the windows were in good shape. <br />Eichorn answered the windows are aluminum clad. If landmarked, he would like <br />to replace the windows. <br />Muckle asked Eichorn if he considered restoring existing windows instead of <br />replacing. <br />Eichorn stated he has looked into the restoration cost and they were quite <br />expensive. <br />Muckle asked if the siding was original. <br />Eichorn stated the siding is aluminum. Under that is asbestos siding and under <br />that is the original siding. <br />Koertje asked when was the rear addition completed. <br />Eichorn stated it was completed in 2008 and is approximately 500 SF. <br />Muckel asked how many families had owned the house. <br />Eichorn stated a handful. He stated he was okay with the house being called the <br />“Zarini House”. <br />Public Comments – none heard <br />Koertje closed the public hearing <br />Commission Questions and Comments <br />Stewart stated he liked the house, believed it retained its architectural integrity <br />and mentioned the outhouse should be landmarked as well. <br />Koertje stated the applicant could always come back to request landmarking of <br />outhouse. <br /> <br />
