Cultural Council Minutes August 19th, 2010 Recreation Center 900 West Via Appia 7:00 PM I.7:06Meeting Commenced II.Present: Maryan Jaross, Julie Kovash, Justine Vigil-Tapia, Andy Langford, Susan McNamara, Lynn Wooton, Joe Stevens Absent: Don Atwood, Rebecca Lasica, Kit Simon, Kathy Martin, Julie Seydel, Frost Yarnell III.Motion to approve Agenda: moved by Julie; seconded by Maryan; all approved IV.Motion to approve Minutes: moved by Lynn; seconded by Julie; all approved. V.Public Comments: No public comments. VI.President’s Report: Julie provided feedback on the interview she did for the Louisville Historian Newsletter. Julie has some files pertaining to the Arts Center cupola restoration funding. Information will be sent to Bridget Bacon at the Louisville Historical Museum. Received positive feedback regarding SCFD grant request (GOS and Project request). Still awaiting final response from SCFD i.e., amount of funding award. VII.Treasurer’s Report: Susan reviewed the summary report with the group. We still have the challenge of increasing our budget so that we can be eligible for additional levels of grant funding. Briefly discussed the ideas presented in the council review i.e., process expenses through LCC bank account, process the art installation through the LCC account (it is a project expense). VIII.City Staff Report: Provided by Joe. Working on budget prep for next year; looks very status quo. Optimistic about LCC funding but city is still experiencing budget challenges Memory Square –looking at cupolaand bathhouse roof maintenance. Overall, community is very happy with the park/pool maintenance completed this summer. Bids out for Art Center interior painting. Received an email from a park neighbor regarding concert sound levels. All concerts this summer complied with the noise ordinance. IX.No City Council Update.
