Cultural Council <br />Minutes <br />August 19th, 2010 <br />Recreation Center <br />900 West Via Appia <br />7:00 <br />PM <br />I.7:06Meeting Commenced <br />II.Present: Maryan Jaross, Julie Kovash, Justine Vigil-Tapia, Andy Langford, Susan <br />McNamara, Lynn Wooton, Joe Stevens <br />Absent: Don Atwood, Rebecca Lasica, Kit Simon, Kathy Martin, Julie Seydel, Frost <br />Yarnell <br />III.Motion to approve Agenda: moved by Julie; seconded by Maryan; all approved <br />IV.Motion to approve Minutes: moved by Lynn; seconded by Julie; all approved. <br />V.Public Comments: No public comments. <br />VI.President’s Report: <br />Julie provided feedback on the interview she did for the Louisville Historian <br />Newsletter. <br />Julie has some files pertaining to the Arts Center cupola restoration funding. <br />Information will be sent to Bridget Bacon at the Louisville Historical Museum. <br />Received positive feedback regarding SCFD grant request (GOS and Project <br />request). Still awaiting final response from SCFD i.e., amount of funding award. <br />VII.Treasurer’s Report: <br />Susan reviewed the summary report with the group. <br />We still have the challenge of increasing our budget so that we can be eligible for <br />additional levels of grant funding. <br />Briefly discussed the ideas presented in the council review i.e., process expenses <br />through LCC bank account, process the art installation through the LCC account (it <br />is a project expense). <br />VIII.City Staff Report: Provided by Joe. <br />Working on budget prep for next year; looks very status quo. <br />Optimistic about LCC funding but city is still experiencing budget challenges <br />Memory Square –looking at cupolaand bathhouse roof maintenance. Overall, <br />community is very happy with the park/pool maintenance completed this summer. <br />Bids out for Art Center interior painting. <br />Received an email from a park neighbor regarding concert sound levels. All <br />concerts this summer complied with the noise ordinance. <br />IX.No City Council Update. <br />
