X.Art in the Park: Provided by Maryan. <br />Four sculptures selected; wanted 5 but one was too big for the space. <br />Pieces will be installed by end of August. Big thanks to Kathy for coordinating the <br />installation. <br />th <br />Sunday, September 5at noon is the grand opening for Art In The Park. Mayor Sisk <br />will announce the project and kick-off the community voting.On-line voting will be <br />open for two months. <br />Daily Camera will do a story on the project and Hometown News will also be <br />contacted. Publicity efforts are underway. <br />Need to work on sculpture funding. Exploring plans for a fundraiser later this year. <br />XI.Grant Writing: Update provided by Justine. <br />No new activity. Still awaiting response from Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson <br />Foundation. <br />Will check BCAA and Community Foundation site for grant submission dates. Now <br />have a calendar schedule put together to track grant cycle dates. <br />Discussed update to by-laws regarding diversity information. Justine to submit this <br />topic as an agenda item for September. <br />XII. New Arts Center: No update. <br />XIII. Fundraising/Sponsorships: No update. <br />XIV. Events: <br />Painting Louisville <br />–Lynn reported that 22 artists are participating. Very pleased <br />with progress thus far. <br />Summer Concerts <br />–Andy has submitted the event reports. Overall, it was a great <br />summer concert line-up and attendance was good. Discussed ideas to improve <br />notification regarding rain dates i.e., recorded message on events line, announce <br />rain dates in advance, include rain dates on concert poster and marketing sites. <br />Huckleberry was a great sponsor and in turn benefited from the exposure. In the <br />future, artists will be encouraged to provide their own sound. <br />Young Artists Exhibit <br />–Lynn reported that this fall activity will be a joint LCC, LAA <br />project. The exhibit will be available Oct-Dec. Hobby Lobby is offering a discount on <br />st <br />materials. Letter to art teachers will be sent out on September 1. <br />Coffee House Concerts <br />–Julie and Andy working on the fall line-up. Rebecca is <br />th <br />scheduling a children’s program on September 24(The Winston’s). <br />XV. Discussion items for next meeting –Justine to send by-law diversity information to <br />th <br />Kathy; add to September meeting agenda. Next meeting is September 16. <br />XVI.
