The Plan itself is advisory and does not
change any city regulations. However, it does have significant weight with future land use and
development decisions with LMC requirements to evaluate such decisions against Plan policies. The
Plan's comprehensive nature also offers an opportunity to support future City decisions on wide
ranging topics like infrastructure and public facilities.
The City has hired a consulting team led by Design Workshop to support the project. City Council is
providing direction in the near term on the preferred project governance from a community
stakeholder group in addition to the City staff interdepartmental project management team.
Active City Protects Parallel to Comprehensive Plan
The City has several ongoing parallel but related projects that the Comprehensive Plan will need to
align with.
