-JR - thanks to past members. Gives intro as chair and that he is interested in music and <br />hosts music at his home. <br />- Shelli - former spanish teacher, has her MFA in writing, would love to get authors to <br />visit the area since that was what she worked with when previously working at a college. Her <br />husband is a photographer and guitarist. <br />-Sharron- Director of Cultural Services at the library, manages library and history <br />museum events. Loves how Louisville is tied to the history of the area and loves to work with <br />that. <br />- Rhena- new to that Louisville area. From San Jose, lost her home in the Marshall fire. <br />Felt like she got a chance to band together and work with the community now and has a great <br />connection through that. Would love to work with something like Marshall Fire again. Sings in <br />choir. <br />-Mohammed- Has lived in Louisville for the past 15 years. Originally from Egypt and <br />wants to bring that bit of culture to the city of Louisville. Wants to bring more Middle East <br />ensembles to the city. <br />-Sarah- Secretary of the Board for the past two years. Her focus and interest lies in kids, <br />family, tech, data events. She has two children and works as a graphic designer and would like <br />to have a focus on digital arts as well this term. JR suggests that maybe we have an event <br />about Al and how it is affecting our world. <br />7. Overview of Arts Advisory Board (JR) <br />a. 2024 changes- JR discusses how the board was previously a 501 c3 and how that <br />functioned with funding. It transitioned to a committee and there have been many changes over <br />the past year. <br />b. Broad summary of programs — art grants, summer concerts, events <br />c. Roles within the board — chair, co-chair, secretary. <br />-JR goes over the basics of the roles. Biggest overview is that the Chair works on <br />agenda, running the meeting, helping the committees and subcommittees. <br />d. 2024 Budget- 15k for summer concerts, 10k for events, 25k for public art, 3500 in <br />other special events costs (advertising flyers etc.), 25k for arts grants. <br />- Art grant process, subcommittee (2-3 ppl) (item 14 moved up to here) <br />- if there are more than 3 people meeting from a board or committee then that <br />meeting must be posted ahead of time and take place in a public place <br />- Events subcommittee <br />
