Applicant: City of Louisville <br />. Case Manager: Paul Wood, Planning Director <br /> <br />Public Notice Certification: <br />Wood stated that the hearing is a continuation from the March 9,2006 meeting. The agenda for <br />this hearing was posted on the City's web site and at City Hall, the Louisville Public Library, the <br />Recreation Center and the Courts and Police Department Building on March 10, 2006. <br /> <br />Conflict ofInterest and Disclosure: None heard. <br /> <br />Staff Report of Facts and Issues: <br />Wood distributed an additional handout titled, "Street Frontages", which demonstrated the <br />number of lots / properties that would be entitled to more than one monument sign because of the <br />linear street footage of the property. <br /> <br />Wood reviewed the following by using a power point program developed by Jared Barnes, <br />Planning Intern: <br />. Time to act <br />. Visibility of Signs <br />. Sample Tenant ID <br />. Sign Size & Height Guidelines <br />. Staff Recommendations <br /> <br />Staff recommendations included the following: <br />. Encourage the use of internal pan-channel rather than back lit lighting as preferred <br />method of illumination <br />. Monument signs <br />- Clarify definition of freestanding/monument signs <br />. Prohibit signage with exposed supports, poles, uprights, or bracing <br />- Content <br />. Reflects on-premise advertising <br />. Allow tenant identification rather than only project identification for commercial <br />and retail uses <br />. Allow only project identification for office uses <br />. Prohibit change panels <br />- Design <br />. Architectural base integrated on at least 2 sides of the sign <br />
