April 27, 2004 Study Session

Bob Muckle identified the riparian corridor along Coal Creek, specifically by the Coal Creek Golf
Course, as an important area to restore. He also suggested the possibility of partnering with the
Warembourg family on creek restoration on the Warembourg property.

Cindy Lair reported that the Warembourg family has already expressed interest in Russian Olive
removal and creek restoration. The family is currently pursuing grants for this purpose.

Don Brown stated that trail connectivity is important and valuable to Louisville residents.

Ron Stewart inquired whether or not the City of Louisville would be interested in partnering with
Boulder County Open Space to restore native grasses on some properties located outside the City
limits.

Bob Muckle felt that the Open Space Advisory Board would be more interested in concentrating
efforts within Louisville.

Don Brown thanked the Boulder County Open Space Department and stated that the City of
Louisville is thankful for the relationship it has with them.

Discussion/Direction – Virginia Hoyle and Ira Hoyle Family Trust v. City of Louisville, et al., Case
No. 02CV1228, Boulder County District Court, Division 3
City Attorney Sam Light explained the final Ruling and Order in the Hoyle litigation. Several options
for City Council were presented for direction. Don Brown felt it would be in the City’s best interests
for Council to pursue the options in an Executive Session at the May 18, 2004 City Council meeting.
He went on to say that he would be open to dialog with Boulder County and the Hoyle family to
determine how to move forward, especially since other parties are involved due to the IGA for the
Northwest Parkway.

Council agreed to discuss options during an Executive Session at the May 18, 2004 City Council
meeting.

City Manager Items
Bill Simmons distributed copies of the Advance Agenda, and the City Meeting Calendar.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.

Belinda Goebel
Administrative Assistant

2
