October 26, 2004 Study Session <br /> <br />Discussion/Direction – 2005 Budget <br /> <br />Patty Leslie gave an overview of some minor changes to the budget and explained that the 2005 <br />Budget public hearing will be November 3. <br /> <br />City Manager Items <br /> <br />Heather Balser gave an update on the US 36 Environment Impact Statement public meetings. <br /> <br />Balser also noted that there is a gap between when the Public Service Franchise expires and the new <br />one that is currently being negotiated will take effect. She asked if Council would like to do an <br />emergency ordinance at the November 3 meeting for a 60-day extension to cover the gap. Council <br />decided to vote on an Ordinance at the meeting for a 90-day extension to give enough time to <br />conclude the new franchise agreement. <br /> <br />Tom Phare gave an update on the Cherry Street pedestrian crossing, noting that the new crossing <br />lights and signs should be in place prior to the end of the year. <br /> <br />Bill Simmons distributed copies of the Advance Agenda, and the City Meeting Calendar. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Meredyth Muth <br />Community Facilitator <br /> <br /> 2 <br />
