Mayor Chuck Sisk <br />749 Main St. <br />Louisville CO 80027 <br />Dear Chuck:: <br />1432 Truman Ct. <br />Louisville CO 80027 -1024 <br />February 19, 2004 <br />Imould like, to serve on the Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board. <br />I would like to contribute to my community by sharing my interest and expertise in the <br />use,and care of plants in the landscape. I can participate in monthly Meetings and put in <br />additional time, too, when needed. <br />I;have, lived and gardened in Louisville' for thepast eleven years; before that, I lived and <br />gardened in Boulder for 17 years:. I even gardened as. a child. I am employed in another <br />field, but plants in the landscape and in nature are a big part of my life._ I participate in <br />numerous local, gardening and native plant programs and organizations. I went back to <br />school:in the 1990's during the evenings and Saturdays to study Urban Horticulture at <br />Front -Range Community College." I received an A'in every course and received the <br />degree of Associate of Applied Science._ For further education and service to the <br />community in the gardening realm, I completed the Colorado State University <br />Cooperative Extension. Service Master Gardener program in 1999 and'have been <br />continuously active in that program. My garden was on the Master Gardener Tour in <br />2001, and on the Colorado Federation of Garden'clubs /Xeriscape Colorado! Tour in <br />2003 I; have. occasionally attended and participated in our city's Horticulture and <br />Forestry meetings. I was part of, a group of interested citizens who presented ` <br />information and a request for alternative.landscaping plans for the South Boulder • <br />Road/.McCaslin Boulevard City Park to _City Council.:Colleagues and I met with the <br />former City Parks Planner to suggest material for this park. <br />I care, about what our city's landscape looks I would like to help do a great job <br />maintaining the trees, shrubs, grasses, perennials,and turf we have now and also do a <br />great job planning economical, maintainable; en vironment- and user - appropriate <br />landscapes for the future in Louisville. <br />Please appoint me to the Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board. <br />Sincerely <br />Caryl L.
