SIMMONS <br />CITY MANAGER <br />DATE: November 4, 2004 <br />SUBJECT: Discussion of Superior Town Center Proposal <br />ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: City Manager's. Office <br />SUMMARY: <br />At Tuesday night's meeting the developers for the Biella Menkick property located in Superior are <br />scheduled to meet with City Council to discuss potential development plans for the property. The <br />property is subject to an IGA with Louisville which contains a sales tax sharing provision stipulating that <br />50 percent of any retail tax revenue generated on the property must be given back to the City of <br />Louisville. The, developers include Michael Carmichael of Caribou Properties, Inc. and Jim Chanin of <br />Chanin Development Inc. Superior is aware of their intended presence at the meeting and facilitated <br />their attendance. <br />Superior envisions developing the area in the Town Center concept as articulated in Superior's <br />Comprehensive Plan, Goal 3. Please see the attached sketches and text referenced in the Town's <br />Comprehensive Plan. Such a concept includes a mixed use development consisting of retail, restaurant <br />and residential use within a pedestrian friendly environment.
