The DRCOG Board
approved the request with contingencies. She thanked Councilor Muckle for his
participation.
Councilor Muckle explained out of $40 million, $25 million in funds would be allocated
for the US 36 Project and those funds would provide Bus Rapid Transit and HOV lanes
to be constructed from Federal to Wadsworth.
Deputy City Manager Balser stressed the importance of moving the project forward to
take advantage of the low construction prices at this time.
Mayor Pro Tem Marsella reported the new pedestrian bridge and park -in -ride in
Broomfield will open on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. She noted the bus will no longer
take the loop off US 36 to pick -up /drop -off passengers, saving commuters ten minutes.
ADJOURN
MOTION: Councilor Dalton moved for adjournment, seconded by Councilor Sackett.
