Councilor Muckle supported the policy and cited the example of the Village Square Shopping Center where there are no pedestrian sidewalks leading directly to the stores from the street. He suggested changing the title on "Adopt and Implement Green Building Design Guidelines" to "Develop Green Building Design Guidelines." Councilor Dalton asked what priority would be put aside. Deputy City Manager Balser explained the Planning Department has many priorities over the next twelve months. She explained with respect to Green Building Design Guidelines, the City was waiting for guidelines from the Governor's office, which relate to funding for the public process. She noted the guidelines recently became available. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT City Attorney Light corrected his statement relative to the open space classification system and stated an ordinance would not be required as it can be done through the Open Space Master Plan and there is no requirement for the Open Space Master Plan to be adopted by ordinance.
