ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN – 2010 Update <br />Implementation of Comprehensive Plan Principles and Policies <br />Louisville’s Comprehensive Plan 2009 Update contains an Economic Development <br />section complete with Principles and Policies, approved subsequent to an extensive <br />public review process. This Economic Development Strategic Plan describes how those <br />Principles and Policies will be implemented, through the inclusion of specific Work Plan <br />Elements. To that end, a series of numbers follow the Work Plan Elements listed below <br />to indicate the relevant Principles and Polices of the Comprehensive Plan that each <br />supports. For reference, the complete text of the Comprehensive Plan Economic <br />Development section follows as Appendix A. This strategic plan will be reviewed and <br />updated annually by the City Manager and Economic Development Director, given <br />review by the Business Retention and Development Committee. <br />However, our abiding overall strategy that will guide decisions and set priorities is: <br />The City of Louisville helps Louisville companies grow and prosper, and invites <br />and welcomes new businesses to join our community. <br />Organization <br />In order to make this vision a reality, the City supports a Business Retention and <br />Development Committee (BRaD) and employs a full time economic development <br />director. We must first <br />review our current attributes to carefully determine our competitive advantage.
