The Benefits of this project include:
Residents will be able to access the Rock Creek trail system from a location near
the middle of the Coal Creek trail system
A more direct link for pedestrians and bicycles from Louisville and Lafayette to
Steam's Lake and Rock Creek Farm
More opportunities for a variety of recreational routes throughout Louisville and
Lafayette
Objectives: Boulder County, the City of Lafayette and the City of Louisville have purchased
multiple properties in eastern Boulder County to accommodate regional trail
connections. This trail segment, from the Rock Creek Trail (at 104 to the Coal
Creek Trail at the Aquarius Trailhead, will provide a highly needed link to these
trail systems, which connects the trail systems of the City of Boulder, Town of
Superior, City of Louisville, City of Broomfield, City of Lafayette, and the Town of
Erie.
Proposed
Uses: Amenities planned for this project will include 1.5 miles of new trail connecting to
the Coal Creek and Rock Creek trail systems. These links will allow users to
experience over 40 miles of existing open space trails and will provide key access to
pedestrians, equestrians, in the Boulder County segment, and bicyclists.
To review the management plan that was adopted by the Boulder County
Commissioners, please visit the following website:
http: yww.bouldercounty. orgy' openspaceimanagement_plans/lou-
laf pdfs /jointownlatlouisMP.pdf
