• US36 Project. Coordinate efforts with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)
and the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) to begin construction of Queue
Jump ramps at the U.S. 36 /McCaslin Interchange.
• Business Retention. Coordinate business retention and recruitment activities including: (A)
review and recommendation on all BAPs (business assistance packages), (B) regular visits
with local business leaders.
• Capital Projects. Complete all capital projects included in the 2011 Budget on time and
within budget.
• Geographical Information System (GIS) implementation. Complete major elements of
the GIS system and begin using the system to more cost - effectively manage the City's
assets and programs.
• FasTracks Implementation. Continue the efforts to have the Northwest Rail and Louisville
Station constructed as proposed in the FasTracks plan approved by voters in 2004, which
Louisville residents and businesses have been paying taxes for since 2005.
• Contingency. Plan for unanticipated events and changes in projects that occur during the
year.
Summary
I want to thank the citizens who contributed ideas, commented on and helped us refine the
proposed budget, Mayor Sisk and City Council Members for your clear direction and strong
support, and the terrific staff throughout the City. Without everyone's hard work and good advice
the proposed budget would never have been ready for or worthy of the City Council's
consideration.
Respectfully submitted,
USICOlift 7
Malcolm Fleming
Louisville City Manager
10
24
