LL Clotyof <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />• The City's Downtown Vision project is live on Engage Louisville. Information from the <br />Open House and a survey is available now. <br />• Solid waste contract proposals went to Council on March 5. <br />o Council selected Republic Services as the city contracted waste hauler for the <br />next 5 years and selected the base option that includes all electric vehicle waste <br />hauling trucks! The trucks will begin servicing Louisville when the new contract <br />begins (fall 2024). <br />• LSAB's 2024 Work Plan went to Council on March 12. Council feedback included: <br />o Lawn equipment electrification — Interest in rebates/incentives rather than <br />regulation and interested in learning more <br />o Memos — Agreement that this is an impactful way to communicate, Council will <br />try to close the loop on communication/feedback through staff liaison. Request <br />from CM Fahey for a memo that explains the impacts of a 'business as usual' <br />scenario. <br />o Internal Decarbonization Plan — When staff send a memo update to Council, <br />include an LSAB memo that explains the board's recommendations and anything <br />missing from the project (April). <br />o Energy Code — Include LSAB recommendations in the energy code memo, <br />interested in hearing from LSAB but don't want to be the first to pass advanced <br />codes. <br />o Budget — Council would like to see LSAB's budget recommendations, ranked <br />based on impact and return on investment. <br />• The Community Decarbonization Plan will go to Council on April 2. <br />• Energy code amendments will go to Council on April 16. <br />• Internal Decarbonization Plan <br />o Public Works is hiring a new Project Manager who will oversee the <br />implementation/construction of phase 1 of the Plan. <br />o Full update will be provided at the April meeting. <br />Grants <br />• The City of Louisville, in collaboration with the Front Range Beneficial Electrification <br />Network (FRBEN) and the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) are <br />applying for the EPA's Carbon Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) to accelerate building <br />electrification in the region. <br />o The application is due April 1, 2024 and the group will likely be applying for <br />$100M+ in funding. <br />PJ <br />
