As part of this
initial phase, Boulder County will be investigating compost facility models and compost
end markets to determine whether a local facility can move the county closer to its zero
waste and climate action goals. Key in this initial phase will be robust community
outreach and engagement. A couple important aspects to note about this exploration:
o There is no selected site for a compost facility at this time.
o The Rainbow Tree Nursery site will NOT be considered for a compost facility.
o Boulder County will not explore Boulder County Parks & Open Space land for a
compost facility.
Visit the compost facility website and FAQ page.
