Sustainability Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />February 21, 2024 <br />Page 6 of 11 <br />of LSAB to include in the Council packet for the Community Decarbonization <br />Plan and Climate Action Goals update. <br />Public Comment <br />RJ Harrington: RJ's comments focused on the public engagement process of the <br />Community Decarbonization Plan. He expressed that there was limited <br />engagement, the stakeholder meetings were not open to the public and he had <br />trouble navigating the website. He also wondered about the type of outreach to <br />the community that will be done for the home electrification workshop series. <br />Deb Fahey: Deb suggested that the workshop series focus on hands-on <br />activities, such as an induction stove demonstration. She added that this <br />demonstration after the Marshall Fire was an important piece for residents <br />determining if they wanted to rebuild with this technology. She also <br />recommended focusing on rebates and incentives through the workshop series <br />and postcards, as this was an effective marketing strategy post Marshall Fire. <br />She also requested that some of the workshops be hosted in Louisville and <br />Marshall Fire networks could be utilized to spread information about these <br />events. <br />Board Discussion <br />Kayla said that the workshops being developed focus on outreach to the single <br />family homeowner. There will be a separate implementation strategy for renters <br />and multifamily and a separate implementation strategy for the mobile home park <br />(PDZ), which will dovetail with the bag tax programs that we'll be doing at PDZ <br />this year. The workshops will be more centrally focused and will use public <br />buildings so there's enough capacity. Also, there would be space for an Expo, <br />where vendors would display equipment to educate residents about low - <br />emissions appliances. LSAB suggested that after the general meetings, as with <br />the Marshall Fire recovery meetings, people could travel separately to visit <br />selected homes near the Rec Center.
