Sustainability Advisory Board
Minutes
February 21, 2024
It was also suggested that the Projects could include issues beyond climate,
such as local pollinators, public transport, getting around using bikes and
skateboards, composting, reducing "urban heat islands", building green roofs,
etc. If there's a downtown business with solar panels, that could start a
discussion about renewable energy. He also suggested that the
kids participating might appreciated having a "take home" souvenir, like a little
passport booklet.
Discussion Item: Community Decarbonization Plan —
Kayla reviewed the Community Decarbonization Plan, recently published in
collaboration with Xcel's Partners in Energy and highlighted a residential
engagement strategy, 1-2-3 Electrify Workshop Series. See the meeting packet
for more information. Kayla asked the board to provide feedback and/or direction
on two items: 1) components/partners for the 1-2-3 Electrify series and 2) overall
feedback about the Community Decarbonization Plan. Kayla asked the board to
draft a memo outline and appoint an LSAB member to write the memo on behalf
