Recreation Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />2/26/2024 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />RAB wants to provide feedback about a project, the group can draft a Memo <br />which will be attached to the proposal. <br />Gene noted that an additional court at Centennial Park was not on the list. <br />Adam said that he will add that to the list. <br />• RAB members discussed the Golf Clubhouse item. A cost estimate is <br />provided for Architecture and Engineering, if building a new clubhouse, but <br />City Council would need to follow through with prioritizing funds for <br />construction. RAB members strongly support the construction of a new <br />clubhouse. <br />• David Baril said that upgrades and repairs are required at the current Golf <br />Clubhouse. Some are of immediate concern, and others are necessary if a <br />new clubhouse willl not be built. <br />Director Update — Adam Blackmore <br />• The Mission Green tennis court reconstruction is out for bids, with work <br />scheduled for March and April. <br />• New wind screens will be installed at the tennis courts. <br />• Adam Blackmore and David Dean have been working to find a site for the golf <br />maintenance building, <br />• The golf concession RFP will be up for bid at the end of the year. <br />• The Parks and Recreation Department is working toward CAPRA <br />(Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies) <br />accreditation. The accreditation work leads to standardization of policies and <br />processes, with the goal of providing excellent service to the community. This <br />accreditation is valuable for grant opportunities. <br />Board Updates <br />2024 Work Plan (to be presented to City Council March 12) <br />• Lisa Norgard presented the updated Work Plan. <br />• RAB members decided to highlight four items, rather than three. <br />• In thin nnlf cartinn navirl Raril ci innPOPH rnmhininn thin Ihathrnnm anri chaltar <br />as one item. Parking lot improvements are necessary. <br />• In the tennis section, the wording will be changed to "reconstruct" the east <br />courts at Centennial Park. <br />Power Point and Council Communication — Lisa Norgard <br />Lisa presented a draft of a PowerPoint to present to City Council on March <br />12. The presentation will be at 6.45 in the Library. RAB members provided <br />feedback about the PowerPoint. <br />Outdoor Rec Amenities Update <br />Gene said that the Work Plan and presentation to City Council are in <br />accordance with the goals of the Outdoor Rec Subcommittee. <br />
