Copies of Blast: The 1936 Monarch Mine Explosion, by William Cohen were <br />distributed (as a work in progress) <br />4. Bridget suggested inviting William Cohen to be the speaker at the annual <br />Historical Society program in May 2007 <br />C. Status on books by Carolyn Conarroe <br />1. The Museum has recently purchased all copies available including: <br />· 25 of Louisville Legends <br />· 25 of The Louisville Story <br />2. Bridget Bacon will plan to arrange for future printings. <br />D. A request to purchase a digital voice recorder for $250 was approved. This will <br />be used in recording oral histories and stories of Museum visitors. <br />E. Memorial donations, including those for former Historical Commission member <br />Dick Franchini, continue to come in. <br /> <br />X. Committee Reports <br />A. Jordinelli House <br />1. There was discussion of the placement of stoves in the Museum buildings. <br />There are some constraints on what can be moved due to the sizes of the <br />different stoves and the door openings. <br />a. White Montgomery Ward stove will be moved from the Tomeo House to <br />the summer kitchen <br />b. Large, black stove in the Tomeo house will be moved to replace the <br />Montgomery Ward stove, with the stovepipe to be redone <br />c. The Flash stove in the Tomeo House will be moved to the Jordinelli <br />House <br />d. The heating stove will remain in the Jordinelli House <br />2. The remaining work on the Jordinelli House was discussed <br />3. Volunteer list is being updated and will continue to be updated <br />4. There is no new information on a possible date for the opening <br />B. Museum Campus <br />1. Landscaping plants in the front beds will be placed starting the week of <br />October 1 st. <br />2. Landscaping funds from donors are being collected, with $1,500 yet to be <br />collected. <br />3. Replacement awnings have been installed at the Museum <br />4. There was discussion of the placement of outdoor artifacts. <br />a. An antique faucet: in or near the rose garden of the Tomeo House <br />b. Pump for a well: near the Jordinelli House summer kitchen <br />c. Cement mixer: on pad in yard <br />d. Punching machine: on pad in yard <br />e. Wooden stump for chopping wood: backyard of Jordinelli House <br />f. The following items will either be disposed of or returned to donor: <br />conduit pipe, lead pipe, screen door, window screen <br />g. The following items require further discussion: forge, two water valve <br />operators, two safes, and rocks from the Rock House <br />5. Fencing: no update <br />6. Repainting and updating the Museum campus signs is estimated to cost <br />$4,000. Further discussion is needed. <br />C. Education <br />
