Local Licensing Authority
Minutes
May 24, 2010
D. Modification of Premises Eat Drink LLC d /b /a The Empire Lounge
and Restaurant Hotel and Restaurant Liquor License 816 Main
St.
This modification was a result of the business owners in the downtown area
asking for the ability to serve alcohol on the tables on the sidewalks. City Staff
determined it was worth asking the Authority for approval. Discussion centered
on the control plans for any of the establishments considering this modification of
premises. Carlson commented this would be a great way to drive economic
activity to the downtown area and urged the Authority to approve.
Carlson moved to approve the modification of premises for Eat Drink LLC d /b /a
The Empire Lounge and Restaurant. Rommelfanger seconded. All in favor.
E. Renewal Application Singh Louisville, Inc. d /b /a Viceroy Hotel
and Restaurant Liquor License 1132 W. Lipton seconded. All in favor.
G. Modification of Premises Waterloo Icehouse, Inc. d /b /a Waterloo
Icehouse Tavern Liquor License 809 Main St.
This modification is also for sidewalk tables.
Rommelfanger moved to approve the modification of premises. Machado
seconded. All in favor.
Police Department Reports
Sergeant Lanphere reported he and Officer Gordanier are two of only a few
trainers in the metro area currently State certified to do liquor training. Since they
are listed on the State's website, there have been an increased number of
inquiries from licensees outside Lafayette and Louisville to attend our training
sessions. This has prompted some concern in the Police Department whether
those persons outside the area should be charged to attend the trainings.
