Memorandum To:Historical Commission From:Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator Date:November 9, 2010 Re:Museum Coordinator’s Report The program World War II Scrapbook: Remembering Louisville’s Servicemen and Women, rd presented on Nov. 3by Museum volunteer Gail Khasawneh, had 50 people in attendance. It was taped to show on Channel 8. The Fall 2010 issue of The Louisville Historian(a special edition with an article about Louisville’s th early years by J. Peter Lindquist) was mailed on November 4. All of the second grade classes from Coal Creek Elementary and Louisville Elementary toured the Historical Museum in October. The Louisville Art Association art competition entries, which this year have the Historical Museum buildings and campus as the subject matter, were on exhibitat the Library for about a month from October to November. Frost Yarnell, Julie Kovash, and I werethe judges for the competition and we selected first, second, and third prizes. Update on Oral History Program: Five people haverecentlycome forward to volunteer to be interviewers. I am in the process of working with the current interviewers to arrange for the new interviewers to go along on some interviews. DVD copies are being made from the oral history tapes and I am mailing complimentary copiesto the narrators as they come in. Debby Fahey, Mary Kay Knorr, and Sally Burlingame attended an ANFRM Volunteer Group th meeting at Fort Lupton on October 16. Museum Visitors Report(these statistics represent visits to the Museum itself, andnot inquiries that come in by email or phone): October visitors 359; YTD visitors:1280 An updatedanalysis of visitor statistics showed that while the public hours for the first ten monthsof 2010 are at 39% of what they were for the sameperiod in 2009due to budget cutbacks, the number of visitors to the Museum for the first 10 monthsisat 80% of the number of visitors for the same period in 2009.
