Memorandum <br />To:Historical Commission <br />From:Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator <br />Date:November 9, 2010 <br />Re:Museum Coordinator’s Report <br />The program World War II Scrapbook: Remembering Louisville’s Servicemen and Women, <br />rd <br />presented on Nov. 3by Museum volunteer Gail Khasawneh, had 50 people in attendance. It <br />was taped to show on Channel 8. <br />The Fall 2010 issue of The Louisville Historian(a special edition with an article about Louisville’s <br />th <br />early years by J. Peter Lindquist) was mailed on November 4. <br />All of the second grade classes from Coal Creek Elementary and Louisville Elementary toured <br />the Historical Museum in October. <br />The Louisville Art Association art competition entries, which this year have the Historical <br />Museum buildings and campus as the subject matter, were on exhibitat the Library for about a <br />month from October to November. Frost Yarnell, Julie Kovash, and I werethe judges for the <br />competition and we selected first, second, and third prizes. <br />Update on Oral History Program: Five people haverecentlycome forward to volunteer to be <br />interviewers. I am in the process of working with the current interviewers to arrange for the new <br />interviewers to go along on some interviews. DVD copies are being made from the oral history <br />tapes and I am mailing complimentary copiesto the narrators as they come in. <br />Debby Fahey, Mary Kay Knorr, and Sally Burlingame attended an ANFRM Volunteer Group <br />th <br />meeting at Fort Lupton on October 16. <br />Museum Visitors Report(these statistics represent visits to the Museum itself, andnot inquiries <br />that come in by email or phone): <br />October visitors 359; YTD visitors:1280 <br />An updatedanalysis of visitor statistics showed that while the public hours for the first ten <br />monthsof 2010 are at 39% of what they were for the sameperiod in 2009due to budget <br />cutbacks, the number of visitors to the Museum for the first 10 monthsisat 80% of the number <br />of visitors for the same period in 2009. <br />
